Construction will begin after Spring 2008 Commencement and may take up to 18 months. The construction will necessitate some major changes in Norlin. Details will be forthcoming.

1st Floor: Norlin Learning Commons
Plans are well under way for the construction of the Norlin Learning Commons in the area currently occupied by the Reference Department and will greatly expand student study space and access to that space.
2nd Floor: Reference/Research Center
The main reference desk, reference collection, and periodical collection will form the core of the Research Floor in the present central study area. The glass wall separating the area from the periodicals collection will be removed and the entire space reconfigured. The Research Floor will include research consultation rooms and new instruction classrooms. This will be the first area to be affected by the construction project.
3rd Floor: Graduate Study Room
The present computer labs will be integrated into the first floor Learning Commons. The current Mac Lab will be reconfigured and transformed into study space for graduate students.
4th Floor: Lifts
New lifts connecting the west side fourth floor with the fourth and a half floor classrooms and offices will be installed during Summer 2008.
East Exterior
The sundial area will be renovated and undergo significant redesign that will occur simultaneously with the new vestibule to be added on the first floor. Facman is in charge of this project and specific issues are currently being addressed by various campus review boards.
