Login Policy for Public Users
The computers in the Research Services and Commons areas have software with licensing restrictions which prohibit their use by anyone other than students, faculty, and staff at the University of Colorado at Boulder. Public users, including Naropa students, should be directed to computers in the Science, Government Publications and Art and Architecture libraries which, because they do not have licensed software, do not require a login and password for use.
Exceptions to this policy are appropriate for research consultations for government information and other research needs. After conducting a reference interview to determine the research need, a member of the Research Services team may log a public user into a nearby computer when the staff member and public user need to be in close proximity for reference consultation. The login is at the discretion of the staff member and not at the request of the user.
The use of scanners is reserved for CU students, faculty and staff. This policy is in force at all times.
