Collection Descriptions

The Center serves as the archive for the College of Music Library's extensive special and archival collections of American music. Originally founded in 1964, the core of the AMRC collection was purchased for the University of Colorado in 1990 from Sister Mary Dominic Ray at Dominican College in California. The Center regularly hosts students from elementary to graduate school and provides information about a wide range of American music types. Visiting scholars and performers use the AMRC collections for individual projects.

For the most up-to-date information about a collection, contact the AMRC Music Librarian, Joe Grobelny at 303-735-1367 or Joseph.Grobelny@colorado.edu.

For information on these and other collections, contact the AMRC office at
Joseph.Grobelny@colorado.edu or Thomas.Riis@colorado.edu or Laurie.Sampsel@colorado.edu.
