Quick Guide to Start Library Research for the Visual and Built Environment

Chinook

Chinook is the library catalog for materials at CU. Chinook is also used to manage your library account (including renewals, holds, recalls, saved searches, etc.)

Prospector

Prospector is a union library catalog of 23 libraries in Colorado and Wyoming. CU students, staff and faculty can request materials not held by CU through Prospector.

Interlibrary Loan (ILLiad)

If the item you're looking for is not found or available in Chinook or Prospector, request it through ILLiad.

Chinook

Search Chinook by “Periodical Title” for the title of the journal to retrieve holding info.

Find it at CU Article Form

If you know the article you are looking for and have the exact citation, fill in the form.

ARTstor

Search ARTstor's collection of over 500,000 images. Create a user name and password from a campus IP address. For more info: http://ucblibraries.colorado.edu/art/ARTstor.htm

College of Architecture and Planning's Image Collection

Search nearly 35,000 images. Logon = guest, Password = guest. For advanced uses please visit the CAP's Visual Resources Center in ENVD 305.

The easiest method of accessing library databases from off campus is through the use of the VPN (Virtual Private Network). Current CU-Boulder students, staff, and faculty need to install the VPN software on their computer and login to the VPN using their IdentiKey account.
