| Business Plans Handbook
(Campus-wide/Remote Access) This resource provides access to a collection of actual business plans. It started as a print series, and still contains actual business plans compiled by and aimed at entrepreneurs seeking funding for small businesses in the North America. Plans come from business in manufacturing, retail and service industries, with names and addresses changed. In addition there are business plan templates, fictional business plans, listings of organizations, agencies and consultants, glossaries, and biographies. This is a link to all the volumes in this series, you can search within the series in the box on the left or use the facets to narrow the results to the materials you are interested in.

This index from the Carnegie Library of Pittsburg lists types of small businesses and a corresponding sample business plan, profile or book about the business with sources provided after each entry. Entries that refer to actual sample plans are in bold print. If the plan or profile is online, a link is provided. Search Chinook to see if we copies of the titles in print.

This U.S. Small Business Administration site is an excellent source for information about starting or expanding a business. Its website includes a business plan template. There is also a link from this template to some sample business plans. In addition, you can take their free online courses, including one on how to prepare a business plan.
