Donors & Gifts
A gift to purchase books for the University Libraries provides a uniquely meaningful way to:
memorialize a friend, relative or colleague
honor a new graduate
celebrate an event or occasion
Special occasions like birthdays, holidays, or promotions can all be celebrated with a donation for books. Gifts for books to be purchased by the Libraries are a particularly appropriate way to remember alumni, faculty or staff.
Your gift of $50 or more purchases one or more new books for the University Libraries in celebration or memory of the named individual. A special bookplate is inserted in the book or books with the honoreeÍs name. In addition, the honored individual, or his or her family, will be notified by letter of your generous gift. At the same time that your gift honors a relative, friend, mentor or associate, you become a partner in enriching the educational experience of students at the University of Colorad at Boulder for years to come.
A keyword search in Chinook, the University Libraries online catalog, using the phrase given in honor of [name] or given in memory of [name] will allow donors and others to identify the specific book(s) purchased. Connect to Chinook and try one of these searches without a specific name to see some of the books donated to date. Look at the detailed record to see the actual honorees.
Bequests and other gifts such as endowed funds for information resources and library programs are welcomed by the University Libraries. Please contact the Dean's Office at 303-492-7511 for more information.
