About Us
The Leonard H. Gemmill Engineering Library is named after one of the university's very successful alumni. Mr. Gemmill earned his B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering here at the University of Colorado at Boulder in 1941.
The Library offers a wide array of services to support students, staff and faculty, including in-class instruction and video tutorials, reserves, and phone, email and walk-in reference. The staff includes two Libraries faculty, one Libraries staff, and several student assistants.
Subject areas
The Engineering Library collects the literature of aerospace, architectural, biomedical, chemical, civil, computer, electrical, electronics, environmental, mechanical, and systems engineering; fundamental technology; applied mathematics; applied optics, mechanics, and dynamics; telecommunications; materials science; and the history and management of technology.
Holdings
Books, journals, conference proceedings, technical reports and standards in formats ranging from print to online. The Library purchases materials from a wide variety of publishers in the fields of science and technology.
Figures
The collection contains over 155,000 print volumes and 96,000+ microforms.
Noteworthy
Of particular note are the extensive collection of technology/engineering literature index and abstract publications, the standards collection that features ANSI and ASTM standards, and the holdings of engineering societies' conference, journal, and report publications.
