Abstracts and Indexes to Academic or Scholarly Articles
Although many databases contain links to full-text articles, when you find article citations in the index databases, you need to search Chinook to see if University Libraries own that book or periodical title.

 

CU ACM Digital Library
Bibliographic information, abstracts, reviews, and selected full-text for articles published in Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) periodicals and proceedings. Also includes selected works published by affiliated organizations. Coverage: Journals indexed 1954 - present. Proceedings indexed 1985 - present.

CU ACM Guide to Computing Literature
The Guide is a searchable index of 400,000-plus bibliographic citations. It includes both ACM-published works and those of other publishers. In addition to book and periodical listings, it includes doctoral theses, master's theses, and technical reports. Coverage: 1985 - present.

CU Engineering Village 2--Compendex and INSPEC
Compendex is a comprehensive bibliographic database of engineering research literature. Contains references and abstracts to engineering journals, conferences and technical reports. Subject areas include: chemical and process engineering, computers and data processing, applied physics, electronics and communications as well as civil and mechanical engineering. Includes links to full text when available.Coverage: 1884 - present.

INSPEC is a bibliographic database that indexes physics, astronomy and astrophysics, electrical engineering and electronics, computers and control engineering and information technology. The database contains full-text links when available. Coverage: 1898 - present.

CU IEEE/IEE Electronic Library
Provides full-text access to IEEE transactions, journals, magazines and conference proceedings and all current IEEE Standards. The site uses the IEEE Xplore search and navigation system. Subjects include electrical engineering and computer science. Coverage: 1988 - present.

 

Scitopia

This federated vertical search portal was created through the collaboration of 15 leading science and technology societies. It searches the entire electronic libraries of these societies, including more than three million documents, peer-reviewed journal content and technical conference papers, spanning 150 years of science and technology can be searched through the site. Though the search is freely available, access to many documents requries authentication. Coverage varies.

 

CU SPIE Digital Library

Provides full text of articles published in the Proceedings of the SPIE and the society's journals from 1990 to the present.



CU SpringerLink
LINK includes many of the journals that the Springer publishing group provides in print form, along with electronic books, such as Lecture Notes in Computer Science. Use the Search box to search within the contents of journals and electronic books. Coverage: varies.


CU Zentralblatt Math
Indexes and abstracts topics in pure mathematics (e.g. algebra, logic, topology, geometry, analysis) , probability theory, statistics, mathematical physics, classical, solid and fluid mechanics, numerical mathematics, mathematical programming, theoretical computer science and automata theory, systems theory, control, operations research, economics, information and communication, circuits, coding, cryptography, applications in biology, chemistry, sociology, psychology. The database contains full-text links when available. Coverage: 1931 - present.

CU Applied Science and Technology Index
Available to campus IP addresses. Remote access information.
Indexes trade and industrial publications, journals issued by professional and technical societies, and specialized subject periodicals, as well as special issues such as buyers' guides, directories, and conference proceedings. Coverage: 1983 - present.

CU Computer Database
Contains citations, abstracts and links to selected full-text articles on computer-related product introductions, news and reviews in areas such as hardware, software, electronics, engineering, communications and the application of technology. Coverage: 1980 - present.
