Abstracts and Indexes to Journal Articles from Scholarly Sources

CU ACM Digital Library
Bibliographic information, abstracts and full-text of articles published in Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) periodicals and proceedings. Also includes selected works published by affiliated organizations. Coverage: varies.

 

CU Business Source Complete
Business periodical database that includes full text and abstracts fromover 1200 scholarly journals and business periodicals covering topics such as management, economics, finance, accounting, international business and more. It also includes case studies, company profiles, conference proceedings, country reports, financial data, industry reports, investment research reports, and market research reports.
1990 - present. (indexing and abstracts back as far as 1886 are also included).

 

CU Econ Lit
The American Economic Association’s electronic database. Provides comprehensive information on accounting, capital markets, econometrics, economic forecasting, government regulations, labor economics, monetary theory, urban economics and much more.
Coverage: 1969 - present.

 

CU Engineering Village 2--Compendex and INSPEC
Compendex is a comprehensive bibliographic database of engineering research literature. Contains references and abstracts to engineering journals, conferences and technical reports. Subject areas include: chemical and process engineering, computers and data processing, applied physics, electronics and communications as well as civil and mechanical engineering. Includes links to full text when available.Coverage: 1884 - present.

INSPEC is a bibliographic database that indexes physics, astronomy and astrophysics, electrical engineering and electronics, computers and control engineering and information technology. The database contains full-text links when available. Coverage: 1898 - present.

CU Expanded Academic ASAP
An interdisciplinary database that contains citations, abstracts, and links to selected full-text articles from general interest magazines, scholarly journals, and newspapers. Coverage: 1980 - present

 

CU Hein Online
Provides access to full text law reviews, international treaties, the Federal Register, U.S. Supreme Court opinions, and other materials. Coverage: varies.

 

IDEAS

Provides access to original research in economics. Access to selected materials may be limited to subscribing institutions. Includes working papers and policy documents from a wide variety of organizations. Coverage: varies.

 

CU IEEE/IEE Electronic Library
Provides full-text access to IEEE transactions, journals, magazines and conference proceedings published since 1988 and all current IEEE Standards, including those for telecommunications. Includes selected full text that pre-dates 1988. Coverage: Varies.

 

CU International Political Science Abstracts

Produced by the International Political Science Association. A bibliographic database that indexes and abstracts articles from periodicals published throughout the world. The abstracts summarize the source articles. Coverage: 1989 - present.

 

CU Legal Trac

Provides citations to articles in all major law reviews, law journals, specialty law and bar association journals and legal newspapers. Included are articles on Federal and State Cases, Laws and Regulations, Legal Practice, and Taxation. Also included are: British Commonwealth, European Union and International Law.

CU LexisNexis Congressional
Provides access to congressional bills and bill status, debate, testimony presented at hearings, legislative histories, congressional reports and documents, laws, proposed and existing regulations, and biographical, financial and voting record information for members of Congress. CU PAIS International
A bibliographic database that indexes books, periodicals, and publications of international bodies, US and other governments on global policy and social issues. Coverage: 1972 - present.

 

Scitopia

This federated vertical search portal was created through the collaboration of 15 leading science and technology societies. It searches the entire electronic libraries of these societies, including more than three million documents, peer-reviewed journal content and technical conference papers, spanning 150 years of science and technology can be searched through the site. Though the search is freely available, access to many documents requries authentication. Coverage varies.

 

CU SPIE Digital Library

Provides full text of articles published in the Proceedings of the SPIE and the society's journals from 1990 to the present.

 

CU Web of Science
Provides access to current and retrospective bibliographic information, author abstracts, and cited references found in 5,700 of the world's leading scholarly science and technical journals covering more than 164 disciplines. The database allows you to search for specific articles by subject, author, journal, and/or author address. Because the information stored about each article includes the article's cited reference list (often called its bibliography) the database is often used to search for articlesthat cite a known author or work. Coverage: 1900 - present.

CU Applied Science and Technology Index
Indexes trade and industrial publications, journals issued by professional and technical societies, and specialized subject periodicals, as well as special issues such as buyers' guides, directories, and conference proceedings. Coverage: 1983 - present.



CU Frost and Sullivan

Database of market research reports and forecasts. Strong in medical and information & communication technology research. Coverage: varies.

CU Business & Company Resource Center

Index of full-text articles in 1300 trade and business magazines, 1980 to present; investment reports on industries and companies; profiles of 100,000+ public and private U.S. companies.

 

CU LexisNexis Academic
An interdisciplinary database that contains the full text of national, international, and regional news, newswires, transcripts, magazine articles, legal and business information, public opinion polls, and other sources. Coverage: varies.

 

CU Mergent WebReports

An online database that allows you to access a vast archive of corporate and industry related documents. WebReports contains more than 180,000 documents covering over 100 countries and industries.

 

CU Regional Business News
This database provides comprehensive full text coverage for regional business publications. Regional Business News incorporates coverage of 75 business journals, newspapers and newswires from all metropolitan and rural areas within the United States. This database is updated on a daily basis.

 

CU StatUSA
A database with domestic and international economic information collected by various agencies of the U.S. government. The "Globus" portion of the database includes Industry Sector Analysis Reports and International Market Insight Reports written by consular officials and other information useful for the study of the global telecommunications industry.

ELDIS

Provides a gateway to information on development issues, providing free and easy access to wide range of high quality online resources. Coverage: varies.

 

Development Experience (USAID)

The Development Experience Clearinghouse (DEC) acquires USAID-funded publications for dissemination to the international development community. Online services include searchable database, document submission, e-mail subscription, and ordering documents and CD's. Coverage: varies.

 

International Telecommunication Union (ITU)
Provides the ITU-T (Telecommunication Standardisation Sector) and ITU-R (Radiocommunication Sector) recommendations online. Ask for assistance with the login and password at the Engineering Library. Although the standards require a login and password, additional information is freely available at the site. Coverage: current, pre-published, and superseded recommendations. Coverage: varies.

 

ITU Strategy and Policy Unit

Identifies emerging trends in the telecommunications environment and analyzes their implications for ITU and its membership. Includes a series of country case studies arrayed by country or topic.

 

ITU Telecommunication Development Bureau
Provides statistics, free study group publications, databases such as the Country Regulatory Profiles and OPERITU, and other information to assist developing countries in the field of information and communication technologies.

 

CU LexisNexis Statistical
An index to statistics published by states, the US government, international organizations, research centers, and trade groups and others. Many statistics are available online. Others are available in print and other formats. Ask for assistance with this database in the Government Publications or Business libraries. Microfiche in the S and U series are in Government Publications. The A, B, C, and R series are housed in the Business Library. Coverage: varies.

 

CU Source OECD
SourceOECD from the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development comprises 20 book collections by theme, containing all monographs and reports; 24 periodicals; a reference title; and the OECD statistical databases. A good source of economic statistics for developed nations. Coverage: varies.

Provides selected data series from 30 specialized international sources for all available countries and areas. Coverage: varies.

Provides access to official UN publications and a wide array of information from related organizations. After selecting a languge for the site, choose "Issues on the UN Agenda" to access a selection of documents, websites, speeches and other material by theme.

 

United Nations Online Network in Public Administration and Finance

This database aggregates statistics collected from governments and acencies across the globe. Economic, agricultural, and social statistics from over 200 developing nations are provided. It is provided through the World Bank. Coverage: varies, as early as 1960.

This site offers best practice public policy advice for private sector led growth in developing countries. Find expert analysis, powerful databases, quick solutions, and comprehensive "how-to" guides.

Patents

 

Patents page provides access to US and foreign patent information, databases with images and texts of US patents and images and text for recent foreign and international patents.

Bibliographic Management

A Web-based bibliography and database manager that allows you to create your own personal database by importing references from text files or online databases. You can use these references in writing papers and automatically format the paper and the bibliography in seconds.
