Government Information in the 21st Century (Gi21)
IMLS Grant

Overview:

The "Government Information in the 21st Century" IMLS Grant is a continuing education program to train reference and public services librarians and library workers in the use of government information. A group of 50 government information professionals from federal depository libraries in Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming have received training, developed online training modules in cooperation with WebJunction, and are available to train and support non-government information library staff in their use of electronic government information.

Designed to address identified issues related to the general lack of awareness of and needed skills to make effective use of government information resources as well as the perceived lack of confidence in the use of government resources, the project sponsors workshops for library staff in their local area, state, and/or region.

For more information, please see the GI21 resources on WebJunction:

The Government Information in the 21st Century Program is made possible by a grant from the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services. Additional support is provided by the University of Colorado at Boulder as well as Arizona State Library, Archives, and Public Records; New Mexico State Library; Wyoming State Library; and Utah State University.
