Serials and E-Journals

 

  • Colorado Alliance of Research Libraries Electronic Journal Miner Search or browse by title, Library of Congress (LC) Subject heading, or description. Includes links to other directories.
  • FindArticles.com an archive of "published articles that you can search for free. Constantly updated, it contains articles dating back to 1998 from more than 350 magazines and journals." You can search all titles, a group of titles (such as the Health and Fitness category), or limit your search to a specific title.
  • FullText Sources Online a print and online service that lists journals with online archives. Use the link to supplementary web access for links to online editions by title.
  • E-Journal Finder provides links to the more than 29,000 e-journals the University of Colorado at Boulder subscribes to.
  • HighWirePress "HighWire Press at Stanford University develops and maintains the Web versions of important journals in biomedicine and other disciplines. A list of journals with free full-text articles online is available." On March 10, 2000, the site included 140,244 free full-text articles.
  • IngentaConnect "provides a free online search service of published content from reliable research sources and is one of the UK's top 20 Web services." Browse or search the contents of scholarly journals from publishers such as the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). Some of the publications you find in this database are only available via subscription.
  • JAKE "a database containing information about e-resources (including online journals, databases, search interfaces, and textbooks) and how they relate to each other. These relationships include a functional but minimal amount of title authority control, listing of indexing and fulltext coverage, and resource evolution." Use the JAKE database to identify the indexes that cover a periodical title and the services that include the full text of a periodical.
  • LexisNexis Government Periodicals (Campus access only) a service provides access to thoroughly indexed bibliographical information about articles in U.S. government periodicals. Information can be accessed by searching subjects and other fields. A list of links to all government periodicals contained in this database is also provided.
  • NASA Astrophysics Data System provides access to abstracts and full text articles from leading journals and conference proceedings in astronomy and astrophysics. It also includes a digital reference library.
  • Online Databases in Chinook Use this list to find individual databases by title. For example, you can use the list to find that the National Newspaper Index is available from Infotrac.
  • LEXIS NEXIS Academic Universe provides a list of Sources that you can use to search an individual newpaper, transcript, or journal title. After you find a title, choose "Search This Title".
  • Online Serials (Internet Public Library) "collection contains [links to] over 2300 titles that can be searched or browsed by subject or by title."
  • Penn Library Electronic Journals and News Sources
  • PubList.com lists over 150,000 domestic and international print and electronic publications including magazines, journals, e-journals,newsletters, and monographs. Entries include title, circulation, publisher, ISSN number, organizational sponsor, and editorial contacts.
  • Uncle Sam Migrating Government Publications links to serial and periodical titles of the federal government. Arranged by title or SuDoc (Superintendent of Documents) number.
