U.S. Census 2000 Data

These CD-ROMS focus on data from the 2000 United States Census. For more information, see the Census Bureau's FAQ. These CD-ROMs are only available at computers in the Government Information Library.

Title Description of contents
Bureau of Census Files These CD-ROMs contain Summary File 1, Summary File 2, Summary File 3 and Summary File 4. You can choose the file you want to access on the opening screen.
CensusCD 2000 Redistricting Geolytics Inc.'s CensusCD 2000 Redistricting contains complete Census 2000 redistricting data along with 1990 redistricting data normalized to 2000 geographies and 2000 map boundaries. Take a guided tour that will lead you through the whole process of creating data reports and working with maps.
CensusCD 2000 Short Form Geolytics Inc.'s CensusCD 2000 Short Form contains complete Census 2000 Short Form data, along with map boundaries, 8 levels of geography: State, County, Tract, Block Group, Place, MCD/CCD, 106th Congressional district and ZCTA (Zip Code Tabulation Areas). The following questions were on the short form (100%) questionnaire that everyone receives: Tenure (whether a housing unit is owned or rented), name, sex, age, relationship to householder, Hispanic origin, and Race. Take a guided tour that will lead you through the whole process of creating data reports and working with maps.
CensusCD 2000 Short Form Blocks Contains complete Census 2000 Short Form data, along 2000 block map boundaries, from the US Census Bureau for all 8 million+ census blocks nationwide.
CensusCD 2000 Long Form Profile Contains more than 900 data items of 100-percent population and housing counts and characteristics (including age, race, sex, Hispanic origin, marital status, household characteristics, units in housing structure, value, rent, number of rooms, tenure, and vacancy characteristics).
CensusCD Long Form Geolytics Inc.'s CensusCD 2000 Long Form contains complete Census 2000 Long Form Data. Long form questionnaires went to every six households to obtain sample data. These questions deal with the social and economic characteristics of population and the physical and financial characteristics of housing.
CensusCD Blocks Geolytic's CensusCD 2000 / Redistricting Blocks is based on the first detailed data available from the 2000 Census, the Redistricting (Public Law 94-171) data. Also includes 1990 Redistricting data normalized to 2000 geographies thru a sophisticated (and proprietary) 1990 to 2000 Block weighting process.
Neighboring Change Database: 1970-2000 Geolytics' NCDB allows access to census tract data for 1970, 1980, 1990, or 2000 in the respective tract boundary definitions for that year. In this manner, the data will appear as it did for the given year and the maps will be drawn according to that year's boundaries. In this format the data will be identical to that found in the CensusCD product for that given year. With Neighborhood Change Database, however, you can access data for all four decades normalized to 2000 tract boundaries. Take a guided tour that will lead you through the whole process of creating data reports and working with maps.
