While based primarily on existing international and national data sources, the CD-ROM provides a unique compilation of data.|
|UNIDO INDSTAT3 2004 Industrial Statistics Database at the 3-digit level of ISIC (Rev. 2)||The data are arranged according to the ISIC at the three-digit level, which provides for the inclusion of 29 industries (see Table 2) in the manufacturing sector. Information refers to each of the following items and is presented by country, year and ISIC category: number of establishments, employment, wages and salaries, output, value added, gross fixed capital formation, number of female employees and production indexes.|
|UNIDO INDSTAT4 2004 Industrial Statistics Database at the 4-digit level of ISIC (Rev. 2)||The data in INDSTAT4 Rev.2 refer to the period 1981 onwards and are arranged according to ISIC (Rev.2) at the four-digit level, which comprises 81 manufacturing industries (Table 3). As in the case of INDSTAT-REV.3, information is presented by country, year and industry, and each of the seven items is covered.|
|UNIDO INDSTAT4 2004 Industrial Statistics Database at the 4-digit level of ISIC (Rev. 3)||INDSTAT4-Rev.3 contains time series data on seven selected data items for the period covering 1990 onwards. The data are arranged at the 3- and 4-digit level of ISIC (Revision 3) pertaining to the manufacturing sector, which comprises 151 manufacturing categories (Table 2).|
|United Nations Statistical Yearbook||Largely based on the print version of the Yearbook. It contains series covering series covering , in general, 1980 to 1997 or 1998. The SYB-CD is organized into 19 topics, each of which comprises one or more tables. Each table contains multiple statistical series, with the total number of series exceeding 400.|
|Wistat-CD: Women's Indicators and Statistics||The United Nations' Wistat is a comprehensive and authoritative compilation of currently available international statistics on gender, population and social development for 206 countries and areas of the world. Version 4 presents 78 tables, mainly covering the period 1970-1999.|
|World Bank African Database||Contains 1500 indicators of macroeconomic, sectoral and social data, covering 53 African countries. Time series include data from 1970 to present. Includes mapping and charting features.|
|World Development Report||The World Bank's annual World Development Report (WDR) is an invaluable guide to the economic, social and environmental state of the world today. Each year the WDR provides in depth analysis of a specific aspect of development. Past reports have considered such topics as the role of the state, transition economies, labor, infrastructure, health, the environment, and poverty. The reports are the Bank's best-known contribution to thinking about development. This CD-ROM contains the full text for the WDR from 1978 to present. These reports are also available online.|
|World Population Prospects||World Population Prospects provides a comprehensive and consistent set of population data for 187 countries and areas on two compact disks (CDs). In all data sets, figures for 1950-2000 are estimates and those for 2000-2050 are projections. All data sets provide, in addition to data for individual countries and areas, data on 33 country aggregates, including the world as a whole, the more and the less developed regions, the major world areas and selected additional aggregates. Disk 2, contains the extensive set of data in such areas as: age distributions, population by sex, mortality, fertility and selected indicators for the 45 countries highly affected by the HIV/AIDS epidemic.|
|World Telecommunications Indicators||International Telecommunications Union database contains time series data for the years 1960, 1965, 1970 and annually from 1975-1999 for around 100 communications statistics covering telephone network size and dimension, mobile services, quality of service, traffic, staff, tariffs, revenue and investment. Selected demographic, macro-economic, broadcasting and information technology statistics are also included. Data for over 200 economies are available.
