Department of Energy Collection Notes
The University of Colorado Government Information Library has a very strong collection of energy reports. They can, however, be a little difficult to find. Please read about our collection and its indexes.
- SciTech Connect
Provides bibliographic citations and selected full text for all DOE research from 1940 to the present.
- NTIS database contains citations for DOE reports published from 1964 - present. To retrieve the microfiche editions, we need the report number.
- NTIS web site contains citations for DOE reports published in the last ten years. To retrieve the microfiche editions, we need the report number.
- Energy Citations Database "contains bibliographic records for energy and energy-related scientific and technical information from the Department of Energy (DOE) and its predecessor agencies, the Energy Research & Development Administration (ERDA) and the Atomic Energy Commission (AEC). The Database provides access to DOE publicly available citations from 1948 through the present..." In the CU collection, the AEC reports are in paper and microfiche. The paper reports are shelved under the call number Y 3.At 7:22/(report number). The microfiche are filed by report number. Some of the oldest AEC reports are in microcard. The vast majority of CU's ERDA and DOE collections are in microfiche by report number with some paper under ER 1.11, ER 1.28, E 1.10. E 1.28, and E 1.99. For the most part, the AEC, ERDA and DOE reports are uncataloged.
Collection and filing notes:
Although the Government Information Library has a fairly comprehensive collection of energy-related technical reports, there is a gap in its DOE microfiche holdings from September of 1997 through May of 1998. See DOE Information Bridge for electronic editions of these publications.
DOE reports received after March 30, 2001 are filed in our collection by the PB accession number (e.g. PB2001-001754).
