- The Congressional Research Service (CRS), the research arm of Congress, prepares reports
(usually under 20 pages long) on topics of interest to member of Congress. Search these CRS Reports CU
through LexisNexis. Use terms like "homeland security" or "terrorism."
- Department of Homeland Security is charged with "coordinating national strategy to strengthen
protections against terrorist threats or attacks in the United States." This
site provides information on the four divisions (Border and Transportation
Security, Infrastructure Protection, Emergency Preparedness, and Response
and Bioterrorism Countermeasures) as well as speeches, white papers, and related
supporting materials.
- DTIC - Defense Technical Reports This database contains the technical reports dealing with defense
issues. Many of these reports are available full-text, but those that are not should be available in the government
publications library, please bring the title to the reference desk for help.
- Federal Emergency Management Agency provides information on how to prepare for emergency.
- GAO Special Collections - Homeland Security selected GAO reports on homeland security issues.
- National Security Council This is a division of the White House that brings together all the
administrative leaders to work with the President to discuss issues of national security and foreign policy.
- HHS - Disasters & Emergencies offers plans for disasters and emergencies.
- Homeland Security Digital Library CU This database provides access to collected government or government-sponsored research on Homeland Security.
- Ready.gov is developed by the Department
of Homeland Security. It is to help the public better prepared for the threat
of a terrorists' attack.
- House Committee on Homeland Security This is the house committee that
