• Healthy Forests Initiative (HFI)
  HFI was launched with the intent to reduce the risks severe wildfires pose to people, communities, and the environment.
• National Archaeological Database
  An "expanded bibliographic inventory of approximately 240,000 reports on archeological investigation and planning, mostly of limited circulation. This 'gray literature' represents a large portion of the primary information available on archeological sites in the U.S. NADB-Reports can be searched by state, county, worktype, cultural affiliation, keyword, material, year of publication, title, and author."

  NIFC is the U.S. government center for fighting wildfires. The website features national fire policies and includes links to information about training and fire prevention.

• National Park Service Reference Desk provides access to personnel directories, policy manuals, and "hot documents" requested under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA).
• NPS Focus Digital Library searches across multiple National Park Service databases. This database provides full-text access to reports.
• National Park Service Voyager Database is a combined library catalog of many units within the National Park Service. Some bibliographic citations contain links to the full-text materials.

  This page links to graphics, species information, laws, and more.
• Recreation.Gov
  This site provides a searchable database of recreational opportunities on federal lands. Choose a state and recreation activity. The database will generate a list of relevant parks, forests, and other facilities. The individual entries include a description of the site, link to the agency which manages it, links to interactive mapping from the National Atlas and a current weather report.

• FAOSTAT provides statistical information on forest growth, consumption, and other agricultural questions.
• Forestry Library offers access to numerous free online publications dealing with forestry issues.

• State of the World's Forests is an annual report covering the forest cover of the whole world (paper copy in CU collection 1000 F17 St28wf, 1997-).

• EarthTrends: The Environmental Information Portal
  This is a cooperative project of the World Resources Institute, the World Bank, the UN Environment Programme, the UN Development Programme and others that provides a wide array of environmental data and information. The material is grouped into broad topics: coastal and marine ecosystems; water resources and freshwater ecosystems; climate and atmosphere; population, health and human well-being; economics, business and the environment; energy and resources; biodiversity and protected areas; agriculture and food; forests and grasslands; and environmental institutions and governance. After selecting a broad topic, the user has access to databases, datatables, country profiles, maps, and feature articles. The databases provide extensive data for onscreen viewing or download. Years of coverage vary. The data tables provide comparative data for countries of the world. The country profiles provide data, tables, and a brief narrative for individual countries.
