Soil Survey

Most soil surveys for the State of Colorado are cataloged in Chinook. In addition, the Government Publications Library has a card file for published surveys. Consult the card file housed in the department if you are unable to find an entry in Chinook.

Soil surveys are not available for all counties or areas of Colorado and other states. Consult the list of Published Soil Survey available at the Natural Resources Conservation Service to find out if a survey has been published for your county or area of interest. The list is arranged by state or the nation as a whole. In addition, a map of completed surveys is available at the site.
