Safety Administration "NHTSA is responsible for reducing

safety-related issues such as airbags, car seats, vehicle recalls,

- Fatality Analysis Reporting System (FARS) provides online access to data on Fatal Crashes by Roadway Function Class and Atmospheric Condition; Vehicles Involved by Rollover Occurrence; Driver Reports, and Fatality Reports. The Driver and Fatality Reports include a wide variety of data on blood alcohol content (BAC), motor vehicle violations, use of restraints (seat belt), vehicle type (such as large truck, emergency vehicles, etc.), time of day, pedestrian fatalities, fatalities in the beds of pickups, train collisions, urban and rural roads, and other factors.
