Want to find a specific book? Try a title or author search

Found a book in Chinook? Want to find the actual book in the CU Libraries?

Note these three things:

  1. Availability
  2. Location (Library, Collection)
  3. Call Number
Example from Chinook:

Once you know where the book is located (library, collection), use the "Maps of Book Locations" tab on this guide to find out where you can find the book.

If the book you want isn't available through the CU Libraries, you have two other options:

1) Search Prospector

If you search Chinook and find that the CU Libraries do not have the book you are looking for (or if the book you are looking for is checked out), you can search Prospector, which is a combined library catalog of libraries in Colorado and Wyoming. Prospector now also includes libraries from Missouri and the surrounding states too- look for the Mobius button to request material for these libraries through Prospector. CU students, staff and faculty can request materials through Prospector, and the items will generally be delivered to one of the CU campus libraries within a few business days.

2) Request through Interlibrary Loan (ILL)

If the item you are looking for is not in Chinook or Prospector, you can request it through Interlibrary Loan (ILL). Generally, an ILL request will take longer to be delivered than material requested through Prospector.

eBooks: Electronic versions of traditional print books that can be read by using a personal computer or by using an eBook reader.

Textbooks: Check to see if the CU Libraries has a copy of the textbook you need.

Fiction: Norlin has a wide variety of popular, obscure, English and foreign fiction titles!
