Read a citation
A citation is a standardized note documenting the exact title and author of a specific information source, as well as where and when the source was published.
A book citation usually contains the following elements:
Author Last Name, Author First Name. Title. City published in: Name of Publisher, Year Published.
An article citation usually contains the following elements:
Author Last Name, Author First Name. "Article Title". Journal Title. Volume and Issue Number. Time of Publication.
Some find it difficult to distinguish between the article title and the journal title in a citation. Usually the article title comes before the journal title and might contain quotation marks. The journal title is usually italicized or underlined.
