Document Delivery Pilot Program

During Academic Year 2011-12, the University Libraries will continue Document Delivery services:

  • Article Delivery (scan book chapters, journal articles) and
  • Book Paging (retrieve available books from shelves)

  • The Program
  • Article Delivery
  • Book Paging

During this pilot program, UCB faculty, staff and students may request a pdf copy of any journal article from our print collections in Norlin, Pascal, and all UCB branch libraries (except the Law Library, which is administratively separate).  The requested pdf will be delivered via a link embedded in an email, usually within 2 business days.

Also during the trial, available books may be pulled from our shelves and held for you at any campus library (again, with the exception of Law).

At the end of the academic year, we will evaluate the project based on volume of use, staffing required, and available budget to determine whether the service will continue to be offered in Fall Semester, 2012.

You may send comments about these trial services at any time to Brice.Austin@Colorado.edu

For article delivery issues contact illmmdd@colorado.edu; for issues with book paging, please contact norcirc@colorado.edu

Pull a book from your shelves and hold it for me

In order to place a request simply click on the REQUEST IT! button (example below):

  1. If there is only one volume you will be asked for your IdentiKey and password (or name, ID, and PIN code). If there is more than one volume, you will be asked to authenticate, then a screen listing the multiple volumes will appear. Select the radio button for the volume desired. Unfortunately only one volume may be requested at a time. However, if you are logged into My Chinook you do not have to reauthenticate for each request.

  2. Be sure to select a pickup location.  If you are requesting that an Engineering Library book be held for you at Engineering, the book should be held for you to pick up the next day.  If you are requesting that the book be held for you at another library, it will likely not be ready for pickup for 2-3 days.  In either case you will receive an email informing you that the book is ready for pickup.
