The UCB Libraries Government Publications Library provides an excellent list of census
resources, including links to the Geolytics CDs with current and historical census data (on campus only), and an online guide to census data.
We list just a few of the many resources for mapping census data below.
American FactFinder
American FactFinder is a Census Bureau data access and dissemination system that provides facts and information about the economy, society and communities. The system will find and retrieve the information from some of the Census Bureau's largest data sets. The "Maps" feature allows the user to create Reference Maps (show the boundaries and features for a geographic area) and Thematic Maps (reveal the geographic patterns in statistical data).
U.S.
Census Bureau TIGER Map Server
Generates high-quality, detailed maps of anywhere in the
United States, using 1998 census data. The Census Bureau no longer maintains this server. For added features and up-to-date information use the American
FactFinder (see above).
Geography
Division Map Gallery
Offers sample map products designed and made available by
the U.S. Census Bureau. All may be viewed online;
some may be downloaded. Maps may change frequently, as new
products are added.
