This gazetteer searches for place names in Central and Eastern European countries. Names can be searched using the Daitch-Mokotoff Soundex system, which allows for a phonetic match in case an exact spelling is not known. This system was developed especially to address Slavic and Yiddish names, but can be used to find places in other languages as well. - The
