Field Trip: National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR)

On Saturday we will visit the National Center for Atmospheric Research at 10:30. Located in a beautiful setting on a hill above the city, the NCARs Mesa Lab was designed by well-known architect I.M. Pei. We will tour the lab, learn about the architecture, explore the science exhibits, and enjoy a boxed lunch. If the weather permits, we can walk the Walter Orr Roberts Weather Trail or, for the more adventurous, take a longer hike on the Boulder Open Space trails that abut the NCAR site.

The tour lasts an hour (10:30-11:30), after which we will explore the exhibits and eat. We estimate that the field trip may be over around 12:45 or 1:00. It could be longer if you plan to take the weather walk or a longer hike.
