Oliver C. Lester Math Physics Library

  • Math Physics Library to Close Friday, June 3rd, 2011
  • General Information

The Oliver C. Lester Library of Mathematics & Physics will be closing during the summer of 2011.

With a growing faculty and student body in Physics and Astrophysical and Planetary Sciences, the College of Arts & Sciences has recommended to the campus that the Library space be renovated for other uses by these departments.

Our final day open to the public is currently planned to be Friday, June 3rd, 2011.
We will be moving the collection, primarily to the Engineering Library, during the following week.  Some books may be unavailable for very short periods of time during that week, but we will minimize that inconvenience as much as possible.

We remain committed to providing content and services to all the disciplines currently served by this branch and will be able to do so through our other science branches, particularly Engineering and Earth Sciences.

Current staff in the Lester Library will be redeployed within the Libraries.

Please direct questions to Jack Maness at jack.maness@colorado.edu.

The Oliver C. Lester Library, one of five branches of the University of Colorado at Boulder library system, was established in 1972.

The collection covers the fields of mathematics, physics, atmospheric sciences and astronomy and contains more than 80,000 volumes and about 1,000 journal subscriptions, both print and online.

We are located on east end of the Duane Physics Building on the second floor.

Parking can be found in a metered lot between Benson Earth Sciences and the Math Building or in the Euclid Parking Garage at any time.  Parking is available in a lot to the east of Duane evenings and weekends only with payment made at a kiosk in the lot that accepts credit cards as well as cash.
