The Oliver C. Lester Library, one of five branches of the University of Colorado
at Boulder library system, was established in 1972.
The collection covers the fields of mathematics, physics, atmospheric sciences
and astronomy and contains more than 80,000 volumes and about 1,000 journal
subscriptions, both print and online.
We are located on east end of the Duane Physics Building on the second floor.
Parking can be found in a metered lot between Benson Earth Sciences and the
Math Building or in the Euclid Parking Garage at any time. Parking is
available in a lot to the east of Duane evenings and weekends only with payment
made at a kiosk in the lot that accepts credit cards as well as cash. CU

Laptops to check out
MAC
iBooks are available for check out by UCB students. They check
out for 4 hours, but not overnight , and have a 3 hour battery. They
have wireless internet/printing capabilities. For hardware/software information,click

Group Study Room
A group study room that can accommodate a group of 6-8 is available. The
key is checked out at the Circulation Desk for 2 hours at a time.
Wireless Access
The Lester Library has complete wireless coverage, including in the group
study room. Only those with a CU Identikey can log into the wireless
network. Most of Duane Physics is also covered as well. Wireless
availability campus-wide can be determined by the ITS
map of coverage.
Reference
Staff members are available to answer questions and provide general instruction
on using the library weekdays: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.
Instruction
Class instruction covering research strategies and library resources is

Copying and Printing
A photocopier is available. The cost is $.15 a page and the copier will
accept coins and $1 or $5 bills. Copy cards may be purchase from a vending
machine in the Library as well. Printing from the public computers is
available for $.10 a page. The printer does not accept money so you must have
a printer card. The student ID card is the printing card for CU Boulder
students. All others must purchase a card in Norlin Library for printing. Printing
cards and copy cards are not interchangeable
Recent Acquisitions
New books remain on the New Books shelf for one week. A monthly list of
new
books by discipline can found on Chinook.
Book Requests
Suggestions for additions to the collection are welcomed. Request purchase
forms are available at our Circulation Desk. Materials may also be requested
by email to the Math/Physics Library <mph@colorado.edu> or
to the Department Head <suzanne.larsen@colorado.edu>.
