Do I Need a Password to Open the Online Articles?

You do not need a password to access any of the online articles from the Critical Reading themes. However, the system needs to recognize that you are a CU student. If you are asked for a password, one of three things is most likely occurring.

  1. Are you trying to access the articles from off campus?

If you are using an off campus computer, the system will not recognize that you are a CU student and you will not be able to access the articles. To correct this problem, please follow the directions detailed on this page: http://ucblibraries.colorado.edu/research/offcampusaccess.htm.

  2. Are you trying to access the articles from a dorm or other campus computer?

If you are using a dorm or other campus computer and you cannot access the articles, then there is a technological problem that prevents the system from recognizing your dorm computer's IP address as a campus computer. If this is the case, you will need to use another campus computer.

Still having trouble?

If the above suggestions do not help you, send an email message to pwrhelp@colorado.edu.
Please specify which article you are trying to open and if you are using a campus computer (dorm or computer lab) or an off campus computer.
