Module 2B Find: Articles

How to find articles from a citation:

Review:

A citation is a standardized note documenting the exact title and author of a specific information source, as well as where and when the source was published.

An article citation usually contains the following elements:

Author Last Name, Author First Name. "Article Title". Journal Title. Volume and Issue Number. Time of Publication.

Sometimes students find it difficult to distinguish between the article title and the journal title in a citation. Usually the article title comes before the journal title and might contain quotation marks. The journal title usually is italicized or underlined.

For example:

Moore, Jeannette Fitzsimons. "Amazon, Forest to Farms." National Geographic 211, no. 5 (May 2007): 4-4.

National Geographic is the journal/ magazine title.
