Browser Configurations for the Proxy Server

 

 

Netscape Version 6.2 + (PC or Mac OS9)
  1. Click on Edit.
  2. Select Preferences.
  3. Click the '+' or triangle to the left of Advanced.
  4. Click on Proxies.
  5. Click the Automatic proxy configuration URL button.
  6. Enter in the Automatic proxy configuration URL box:
        http://libraries.colorado.edu:8080/proxy.pac
  7. Click Reload, then OK


Netscape Version 7.x + (Mac OSX)
  1. Click on Netscape.
  2. Select Preferences.
  3. Click the triangle to the left of Advanced.
  4. Click on Proxies.
  5. Click the Automatic proxy configuration URL button.
  6. Enter in the Configuration location (URL) box:
        http://libraries.colorado.edu:8080/proxy.pac
  7. Click Reload, then OK


MS Internet Explorer Version 5 or 6 (PC only) - Dial-up access
  1. Click Tools.
  2. Select Internet Options.
  3. Click the Connections tab.
  4. If you have multiple connections listed under Dial-up settings,
    select the one you want to configure.
  5. On the right of the Dial-up settings box, click Settings.
  6. Check the box next to Use automatic configuration script.
  7. Enter in the Address box:
        http://libraries.colorado.edu:8080/proxy.pac
  8. Click OK.
  9. Click OK again.


MS Internet Explorer Version 5 or 6 (PC only) - Cable/DSL
  1. Click Tools.
  2. Select Internet Options.
  3. Click the Connections tab.
  4. Click the LAN Settings button.
  5. Check the box next to Use automatic configuration script.
  6. Enter in the Address box:
        http://libraries.colorado.edu:8080/proxy.pac
  7. Click OK.
  8. Click OK again.


Netscape Version 4.x (PC or Mac)
  1. Click on Edit.
  2. Select Preferences.
  3. Click the '+' to the left of Advanced.
  4. Click on Proxies.
  5. Click the Automatic proxy configuration button.
  6. Enter in the Configuration location (URL) box:
        http://libraries.colorado.edu:8080/proxy.pac
  7. Click Reload, then OK
 

MS Internet Explorer Version 4.x (PC only)
  1. Click View.
  2. Select Internet Options.
  3. Click the Connection tab.
  4. At the lower right, click Configure.
  5. Enter in the URL box:
        http://libraries.colorado.edu:8080/proxy.pac
  6. Click Refresh, then OK.
  7. Click OK again.
 
Notes for AOL Users
  1. To install Netscape Navigator for AOL:
  2. Keyword: netscape
  3. click on Click Here!
  4. click on Download Netscape
  5. Follow the prompts to load and install Netscape Navigator
  6. Follow the steps listed above for setting up Netscape Version 4
