Columbia Granger's World of Poetry

Includes 13,000 poems in full text, and 25,000 poetry citations for poems in anthologies. It also includes selective commentaries, biographies, bibliographies, notes on form, and a glossary of terms. It is possible to search by: Author, Author Category, Subject, Title, First Line, Last Line, Words in Poem, or a combination of searches. It provides simple and advanced searching. CU

Dictionary of Literary Biography

A contemporary 300+ volume literary encyclopedia with substantive 2 to 5 page biographical introductions, critical evaluations, and bibliographic essays on authors, critics, journalists, screenwriters, publishers and scholars, a majority of whom have published in the 20th century. The database, which will continue to grow, includes a large number of international literary figures. Page images and searchable full-text of Early American Imprints, Series I. Evans. Covers every aspect of in 17th- and 18th-century American life including history, literature, religion and foreign affairs. Upon completion the database will consist of 36,000 titles. CU

 

Early American Imprints, Series II. Shaw-Shoemaker (1801-1819)
Covering every aspect of American life during the early decades of the United States, this primary source collection provides full-text access to the 36,000 American books, pamphlets and broadsides published in the first nineteen years of the nineteenth century. CU

 

Early English Books Online (EEBO)
Includes the complete page images of 96,000 volumes in all subject areas published in Great Britain or in the English language between 1475 and 1700, and represented in the English Short Title Catalog and Thomason Tracts. CU

 

Early English Books Online: Text Creation Partnership (EEBO-TCP)
Subset of Early English Books Online. Currently includes searchable full text of 1,500 titles chosen from the New Cambridge Bibliography of English Literature. 200 tiles are added monthly. When complete, EEBO-TCP will contain 25,000 texts. CU

 

Eighteenth Century Collections Online (ECCO)
Eighteenth Century Collections Online is an ongoing project based on The English Short Title Catalog, a machine-readable union list of the holdings of the British Library, as well as those from more than 1,500 university, private and public libraries worldwide. This includes over 150,000 English-language titles and editions published between 1701-1800. CU

 

English Short Title Catalog (ESTC)
Provides extensive descriptions and holdings information for letterpress materials printed in Great Britain or any of its dependencies in any language—as well as for materials printed in English anywhere else in the world. Coverage is from the beginnings of print to 1800 including all recorded English monographs printed between 1475 and 1700. CU

 

Evans Early American Imprint Collection: Text Creation Partnership (Evans-TCP)
The University of Michigan, NewsBank/Readex Co., and the American Antiquarian Society are cooperating in a Text Creation Partnership to create 6,000 accurately keyed and fully searchable SGML/XML text editions from among the 40,000 titles available in the Evans Early American Imprints Collection. Evans is the most significant collection of titles relating to the history of seventeenth and eighteenth century America, and the Text creation partnership seeks to create enduring digital text editions of the most frequently studied works. NewsBank/Readex is producing digital page images and searchable OCR (Optical Character Recognition) for the overall collection. 342 texts are currently available and about 150 are added bi-monthly. The most comprehensive English language dictionary, the OED Online contains the complete text of the 20-volume Second Edition of the Oxford English Dictionary, first published in 1989, together with its 3-volume Additions Series, published in 1993 (volumes 1 and 2) and 1997 (volume 3). It is updated quarterly with the goal of presenting a completely new 3rd edition by 2010. CU

Wright American Fiction 1851-1875
Electronic texts of works drawn from the bibliography by Lyle H. Wright titled American Fiction 1851-1875: A Contribution Toward a Bibliography. The electronic texts are being developed by the Indiana University Digital Library Program. The library is loading cataloging records for these items which will provide links to approximately 2000 late 19th century fictional electronic works. CU
