  3. Analysis

     

    1. Multi-Disciplinary Journal/Magazine Indexes
      • InfoTrac OneFile
          Search Tips:
        • Click on the "Subject Guide Search" link towards the top of the screen.
        • Search for the organizational name.
        • Click on the "subdivision" link underneath the name of the organization.
        • Look out for subheadings related to your topic, such as evaulation, management, orgnaization formation, reorganization and restructuring, ...

    2. Subject Specific Journal Indexes
      • general search techniques:
        • combine search terms (including synonyms) with logical operators (AND, OR), truncation (usually *), and nesting ( () )
          eg, international organziations and (reform* or accountab*)

      • International Political Science Abstracts

       

    3. Scholarly Books
      • Unless you are looking for known items, always break your topics down into keywords and connect with these keywords with the word "and". E.g. organization* and environment*.

         

      • Books we have can be found in Chinook
      • Books you have accessed to within a few business days can be found in Prospector
      • Books we can borrow for you from libraries all over the world but may take a week or two to a few months can be found in WorldCat. (The free web version offers less features.)

         

      • You may also want to use Google Books or Colorado State University library catalog Sage to locate books chapters.

         

        NOTE: Both are supplemental but if you find something relevant and want to borrow the book, do a title search in Chinook or click on Repeat Search in Prospector if you are in Sage

      • Search Chinook for US Congressional Hearings
        E.g. hearing and imf
      • LexisNexis Congressional includes both committee hearings and Congressional Research Service Reports
      • Government Documents from United Kingdom

       

  4. Full-Text Access
    • Click on the "Find it @ CU" on the result screen.
    • If it cannot find it by ISSN number, copy the name of hte journal or title of the book and do a search in Chinook.
    • Periodical Title search in Chinook for journals we subscribe to
    • Chinook and Prospector (for books and documents in print format)
    • ILLiad (interlibrary loan)
