University Libraries > Research Resources > Off-Campus Access > VPN Off-Campus Access : VPN
If you are using an Internet Service Provider other than CU-Boulder, VPN is the recommended method for connecting to the Libraries databases with a high-speed Internet or broadband service.
To use the VPN, current CU-Boulder students, faculty, and staff will need to install the VPN software on their computer, then log into the VPN whenever access to a database or electronic journal is needed.
A CU IdentiKey is required for logging into the VPN. Instructions for obtaining an IdentiKey account are available at http://www.colorado.edu/its/accounts/index.html. Complete instructions for downloading and using VPN are available on the ITS VPN Information Page. Once connected to VPN, open a Web browser (Netscape, Internet Explorer, etc.).In the Location box, type the URL for Chinook: http://libraries.colorado.edu
