Mrs. Catherine Grace Godwin, 1798-1845. Both her parents died whilst she was still an infant and she was brought up by Mrs. Warboys, a family friend. They lived at Barbon, Kirkby-Lonsdale. In 1834 she married Thomas Godwin, formerly of the East India Company. She contributed to several annuals. She was acquainted with W. Wordsworth who wrote an analysis of her poetical strengths and weaknesses in a private letter of 1829. This work is dedicated to William Wordsworth.
