Backing Up Bookmarks and Favorites
It's a good idea to save your bookmarks in case you get a new computer or
upgrade your browser. Follow the instructions below to back up your bookmark
file or import the saved bookmark file into your browser in Internet
Explorer 5.0 + and Netscape 7. If are using an
older browser, contact Libhelp for
assistance.
Back up Favorites:
- Under File, select Import and Export.
- You will see the Import/Export Wizard. Click Next at the welcome screen.
- Click on Export Favorites and Next.
- Highlight the Favorites folder and click Next.
- Click the radio button next to Export to a file or address.
- Save the file.
- Click Next.
- Click Finish.
- You will see a message, "Successfully Exported Bookmarks".
- Click OK.

Import Favorites From a Saved File:
- Under File, select Import and Export.
- You will see the Import/Export Wizard. Click Next at the welcome screen.
- Click on Import Favorites and Next.
- Click the radio button next to Import from a file or address, then click
on Browse.
- Navigate to the place you saved your bookmarks and click on the bookmark.htm
file.
- Click Next.
- Highlight the Favorites folder and click Next.
- Click Finish.
- You will see a message, "Successfully Exported Bookmarks".
- Click OK.

Back up Bookmarks:
- Click on Bookmarks on the toolbar.
- Click on Manage Bookmarks.
- Under Tools, click Export.
- Save the file.

- Navigate to the folder containing the bookmark file.
- Double click on the bookmark.htm file.
