Charge
- Monitor current trends to identify innovations that can be applied to the Libraries’ digital collection workflows, when appropriate.
- Identify and recommend measures to increase efficiency and integrate digital collection workflows into the Libraries’ regular operations, when appropriate.
- Take a leadership role in the deployment, configuration, and administration of the digital library software platform(s).
- Investigate, plan, and implement digital collections’ services (e.g. making the metadata available to harvesters, taking advantage of APIs to enhance functionality for the digital collections, etc).
- Monitor current trends in digital preservation and serve as a resource on these matters for the Libraries.
- Support DSC’s charge to “identify and monitor the Libraries priorities for implementing … digital content initiatives” by providing information about digital collection proposals and recommending priorities.
- Coordinate with collection managers to plan and create digital collections, whether the content originates from an analog source or is born-digital.
- Communicate digital collections’ developments to and provide training for the Libraries.
- Evaluate potential joint digital initiatives and collaborate with the Libraries’ constituencies.
