About the Libraries' Collections
 
Aerial Photograpy of Colorado
Aerial Photographs of Colorado, a project of the Jerry Crail Johnson Earth Sciences and Map Library, contains over 1,700 scanned aerial photographs of Colorado taken by the U.S. Forest Service in the years from 1938 to 1947.
 

Ben Gray Lumpkin Folk Music Project
The Howard B. Waltz Music Library, with a grant from the Collaborative Digitization Program, is digitizing folk song field recordings performed by Coloradans in the mid-20th century. The songs were recorded by former University of Colorado professor, Ben Lumpkin. This collection is available in streaming audio format; each song is accompanied by its incipit (first line of music).
 

Building Colorado Story by Story: The Sanborn Fire Insurance Map Company
Building Colorado Story by Story: The Sanborn Fire Insurance Map Collection is a digital collection of Sanborn fire insurance maps of cities across Colorado. The collection contains 346 maps of 79 principal cities in 52 counties covering the years 1883-1922.
 

Digital Sheet Music Collection
The Digital Sheet Music Collection provides access to examples from the University of Colorado at Boulder Music Library's sheet music collection of approximately 150,000 items. The sheet music digitized and presented here was originally published between 1890 and 1922.
 

Publishers' Bindings
Special Collections houses a large collection of publisher bindings, primarily late nineteenth-and twentieth-century American books bound in decorated publisher's cloth. The bindings are currently available via Chinook and will be added as a collection in DIAL.
 

Women Poets of the Romantic Period
Special Collections has scanned a sampling of the table of contents from the Women Poets of the Romantic Period collection. The table of contents are attached to the Chinook record to allow patrons to browse the contents of these items or search our catalog for a specific poem.
Upcoming Digital Projects
 
Lavender Photo Albums Project
Special Collections is digitizing the photo albums of Dwight Garrigues Lavender, an early Colorado mountaineering pioneer, who climbed various Colorado mountains. The three albums in this collection were compiled in the summer of 1928, the summer of 1930 and the summer of 1931 and contain some the first photographs taken of first ascents and routes on mountains.

Committees
Digital Asset Management Committee
In May 2004, Dean Jim Williams convened a meeting to discuss digital asset management with representatives from across the the CU system. As a result of this meeting, the Digital Asset Management Committee and two task groups were formed to investigate issues related to digital content acquisition and digital asset management infrastructure. Digital Library Management Group (DLMG)
The Digital Library Management Group was formed in June 2005. The group's work includes digital library software implementation and acting as a sounding board for new ideas related to digital initiatives.
