Audiovisual Duplication and Reformatting Services

photo: Media DuplicationWant to create a DVD or CD containing just the clips or tracks you need for class assignments or instruction? Do you have an aging analog recording that needs to be preserved in a new digital format? A PAL or SECAM video you need to convert to DVD or VHS for study or classroom viewing? Don't have time or equipment to do it yourself?

The Libraries offers a variety of duplication and reformatting services that you might find helpful.

To submit a basic audio or video duplication request, visit the Access Services circulation desk on the first floor of Norlin Library. For larger or more complex orders, contact Michael Riberdy: 303-492-2816. See the audio and video price lists below. Copyright restrictions may apply.

Under certain conditions specified by U.S. copyright law (Title 17, U.S. code), libraries and archives are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction. One of these conditions is that the photocopy or reproduction is not to be “used for any purpose other than private study, scholarship or research.” If user makes a request for, or later uses, a photocopy or reproduction for purposes in excess of “fair use,” that user may be liable for copyright infringement. The University Libraries reserves the right to refuse a copying request if, in its judgment, fulfillment of the request would violate the copyright law.

Duplication of copyrighted audio-visual materials is acceptable only for temporary, non-commercial use during the current academic semester; in connection with or creation of curriculum materials, classroom or reserve room use.

Copyrighted materials purchased or borrowed from sources outside the UCB Libraries collections are not acceptable for duplication.

Persons requesting duplication of copyrighted materials must be registered users within the University of Colorado Libraries System. Proof of registration and customer signature are required.
