Guidelines for Requesting Audio/Video Recording
or Photographing of Libraries-Sponsored Events

Advance Requests

Systems Media Services personnel are available on an Advance Request basis to photograph or help create video or audio recordings of Libraries-sponsored events (presentations, panel discussions, meetings, interviews, displays, training sessions, etc.). These recordings and photos can be edited and prepared for supported methods of electronic distribution, reproduction, or publication.

Approval by a Libraries department head or committee chairperson is required before submitting a request. A Release Form obtaining permission to record or photograph a presenter may be required for some events.

Please submit requests to the Media Services Coordinator at least 3-4 weeks in advance to allow sufficient time for review and planning, or to make alternative arrangements: Michael.Riberdy@colorado.edu; 303-492-2816

Optional Equipment Loans

As an alternative to having Systems Media Services personnel record an event, the following types of audiovisual equipment are available for short-term loan to authorized Libraries personnel:

  • Telephone Recorder/Adapter (for recording conversations or interviews)

Please contact the Media Services Coordinator at least 1-2 weeks in advance to make a reservation or request user training, setup assistance, or follow-up support: Michael.Riberdy@colorado.edu; 303-492-2816.
